Legoland Malaysia : Price & comparison

Legoland Malaysia

School holidays are around the corner, and I find myself ‘researching’ on Legoland, Johor. My Dee has been bugging me as far as I can remember, so it’s time to really find out how much, where to stay and etc. But after sometime of reading through, I got so mixed-up and confused; as which is the cheaper and better option.

Visit two theme parks in a day? Or visit the theme park one day and the wet park on another. But knowing how excited kids can be (and adults too), I think going on one park a day is a better option since the tickets are expensive, so the kids (and you) can enjoy the day fully without having to rush and skip some rides because the queue can be super long and you need to finish the two parks in day.

^ For toddler’s aged 0-2 years old there is an RM11 charge per entry to the Water Park each day. Two (2) complimentary Swim Diapers will be included.

My conclusion:

If you’re opting to go to the theme park on Day 1, and spend the next day getting wet at the water park on Day 2 , the cheaper option is to buy tickets online 7 days in advance (buy the normal 1 day ticket, and buy the water park tickets for the day after.) Why?

1 Day Theme park ticket (adult: RM144) + 1 Day water park ticket (adult: RM100) = Total RM244.00
Compared to the 2 day combo (adult): theme park + wet park  = RM 280.00 (you SAVE RM36)

Mind boggling, huh?

WHERE TO STAY

There are a lot of hotels you can consider staying somewhere near the vicinity of Legoland or not, the choice is up to you and your budget. Since they are many hotels that is around the area, I’m just taking two of Legoland’s official hotel partners for comparison, as well as the Legoland Hotel itself.

Some tips to consider:

Parking:
Less than 1 Hour – Free
2-3 Hours – RM2
3-4 Hours – RM4
More than 4 hours = RM7.00

  • Bring the plastic raincoat in case it showers when visiting the theme park.
  • Start early morning as it opens (10am) and go on the interesting rides first to avoid longer queues later in the day.
  • For cheaper options, you can always check group buying sites such as Groupon.my – from time to time they might have deals related to Legoland, just make sure you read the deal T&C carefully before purchasing.

I hope my little research here helps 🙂

  • Wow, I so appreciate your article right now!! It is very confusing indeed on what to pick in terms of hotel, and legoland packages, distance, etc.. Thank you for sharing all this information!! We may have not picked the cheapest option, since we are staying at legoland hotel, but it is by far the most convenient and gives us a head start with some of the rides!! Thank you again!

  • You dont need luxury accommodation if your main intention is to have fun at legoland. Our guests stay with us (normal rate RM60/room x 2 rooms) at RM100/nite for 2 rooms.

They have quick breakfast (bread, jam, coffee, tea) for free and leave by 9.30am. They arrives legoland (its a one way street from our place) at 10am. They will be back after 7pm and have their dinner at restaurant in front of our guesthouse.
Ideally, by 9pm everyone falls asleep in our aircond room.
So why spend so much money on luxury hotels?

  • Thanks for the info. I ve booked Legoland hotel, but is it cheaper to get the tickets online or at the entrance?

    • Hi Sliew, it’s cheaper to buy online in advance, the earlier you buy, the more discount you get, for example if you buy online tickets 20 days in advance, you get 20% discount off the price.
